Welcome to 2012/13, 12th year in and we are now starting 21st Century Learning

Issues:
  1. The gap between where we are and where we need to be is a wider gap than ever before. The world is changing faster through technology and the world is more needy.
  2. How do we do more with less?
  3. Model schools aren't working harder than Kickapoo, they are working less.
  4. New testing Smarter Balance Assessment SPS Learning Model
  5. New Common Core State Standards, or as we call them in Missouri: Missouri Core Academic Standards
  6. Educating students must be: INCREMENTAL, INNOVATIVE, TRANSFORMATIONAL. "Transformation, the role of teaching to create learning through student personalization" We can no longer judge the class as a whole, but must begin tracking every kid that enters our room.
  7. There is a movement in American education that is currently driving the remolding of the educational culture to prepare students for 21st Century. The evolution of this culture is coming from teachers, principals and educational leaders; and successful business practices. We are the revolution.

Learning is about the student...

When we go to the dentist, we don't blame him for our problems that we created.
When we are sick it isn't the doctor who made us sick.
IT IS OUR RESPONSIBILITY TO BE THE DENTIST OR THE DOCTOR. WE SHOULD ONLY HAVE TO SEE A DOCTOR OR A DENTIST IN AN EMERGENCY SITUATION. TEACH TO INSPIRE AND CREATE AN ENVIRONMENT THAT STUDENTS TEACH THEMSELVES.
Bill Daggett

PEOPLE LEARN FROM THE PEOPLE THEY LOVE

Every study shows the best result come from great relationships and it has never been; the brick and mortar, the basic core principles or charter school, magnet school, or weird academy.

No server space at school. Create your own server at home and access it at school, on your phone, share with students your specified files. Even share file over the 5 GB limit at school. I purchased a $49.00 server and a cheap hard drive and have access to all my files at anywhere. Pogoplug.com
